RT Industries

RT Industries incorporated in 1974 as a 501(C)(3) organization, with the purpose of promoting the welfare and needs of adults with disabilities. With the support of Riverside Developmental Disabilities, RT Industries grew, providing training and paid work through its production facility and by providing meaningful daily living and leisure activities through its Active Day Services. In the 1980’s RT Industries secured contracts to provide janitorial and landscaping services to various Ohio Department of Transportation locations (roadside rest areas and District Headquarters) which expanded job opportunities and resulted in the development of an entire new department; Community Employment.

​Today, RT Industries serves over 225 adults. Services continue to be directed by the person served with the ultimate goal of defining what constitutes success for each person and then providing services and supports that help lead the person along the path to success. RT currently operates a Production Facility and Community Employment Department that operates out of its owned facility at 110 Foss Way, in Troy, Ohio. Active Day Services are provided in leased space at Riverside Developmental Disabilities’ 1625 N. Troy-Sidney Road Facility. RT Industries benefited greatly from its relationship with Riverside Developmental Disabilities. Beginning in 2006, RT began accepting additional responsibility regarding the services and supports provided, to include hiring staff directly. In January 2018 RT Industries completely “privatized”.
